A small community with so much to offer, from Greek orthodox ministries, charities and fraternal organizations, there is no limit in supporting the faith, the Greek culture or helping others!


Philoptochos (Friends of the Poor), a women’s organization, is a ministry of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Louisville, KY. Their mission focuses on helping the less fortunate. Over 70 years of philanthropic work in this city, they have assisted parish members and Louisville residents with bills and unexpected expenses. Their on-going projects include the 'Blessings in a Backpack' program that benefits over 40 children from Chenoweth Elementary School; collecting pajamas for homeless youth at Wayside Christian Mission, and collecting school supplies for EACM,  Eastern Area Community Ministries. They also donate to charities and causes supported by their national organization as well to those suggested by their members.

This organization is open to anyone who wants to make a difference.


Greek dancing classes are available for children/young adults from the AGOC parish but also open to anybody who wants to learn about the Greek culture and traditional folk Greek dancing.

Different age groups from 4yrs - 30yrs.  that perform for different Events like: GreekFest, WorldFest, Glendi etc. 



The Daughters of Penelope is a women's philanthropic organization which was established in 1929.   It promotes Hellenism, Education , Civic Responsibility and Family & Individual Excellence.  It cultivates the ideals and traditions of Hellenism, and promotes opportunities of education, and cooperates and works closely with the whole AHEPA Family (Daughters of Penelope,  AHEPA,  and Maids of Athena). 

The Louisville Chapter of the Daughters, Saturn Chapter, has been recognized nationally for its philanthropic work over the years, and has won numerous awards as "Most Philanthropic Chapter" for the past four years.



The Maids of Athena is an international philanthropic and fraternal organization, a sisterhood of young women of Hellenic descent and philhellenes, and a Junior Order of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) and the Junior Auxiliary of the Daughters of Penelope.
